Hawaiian SoupsBig Island Chili

2 lb Ground beef
2 cans Kindey beans and juice
1 can Black beans and juice
1 can Corn(drained)  1 15 oz can Tomato sauce
1 can Stewed tomato
3 pks McCormick chili mix
1 Onion
1 Bell pepper
2 Tbsp Mayonnaise

Cooking Instructions
 
Brown beef in pot. Drain excess oil. Add onions and bell pepper your choice of seasonings (pepper,salt etc.). Pour McCormick chili mix and one can tomato sauce and bring to boil. Reduce heat and add stewed tomato. Add beans and corn and let simmer about 10 min. Serve on top of hot rice. Scoop mayo on top, mix it or eat it as you go. 


Beef stew

3 lb Chuck roast
Red wine(not cooking wine)
1 tsp Cumin
3 Bay leaves
3 large cloves Garlic chopped Salt and pepper to taste
Red pepper flakes to taste
2 15oz cans Stewed or diced tomatos
3 large White potatos
2 medium Carrots

Cooking Instructions

Brown chuck steak on all sides in a pot. Add red wine until just covered. Bring to a boil then add all other ingredients. Turn down heat and simmer until meat is soft. Add vegtables and contiue to simmer until soft.
 
Additional Comments
 
If you enjoy the taste of red wine, you'll really enjoy this twist on an island classic.


Beef Stew 2

2 lbs. stew beef
4 med. potatoes, peeled and cut in half
1 large onion, sliced thickly
3 stalks celery, cut in 2" chunks 1 can tomato soup
1 sm. can english peas, drained
2 Tbsp. tapioca (optional)
salt, pepper, garlic salt to

Cooking Instructions

Place the potatoes in the bottom of a 2 quart casserole, top this with onions and celery. Sprinkle with the salt and pepper. Next add the stew beef and sprinkle with garlic salt. Smooth the soup over the meat and sprinkle the tapioca over the soup. Last, pour the peas over. Cover and bake 300 degrees for 2 hours or until meat and potatoes are tender.
